JANESVILLE, Wis. - Janesville police say they have positively identified three hooded thieves who stole a purse from a Target shopper Tuesday.

Police were dispatched to 2017 Humes Road at 5:13 p.m. Tuesday for reports of a robbery. Investigators learned that three male subjects entered the store at 5:08 p.m. with hoods pulled up over their heads.

The thieves were in the store for about three minutes. During that time, they went to the food section, where they took the purse of a shopper and ran for the door.

The three left the store in a black, four-door BMW that had black rims and dark-tinted windows. That car has been identified as a vehicle stolen out of Fitchburg, police said.

On Thursday, police confirmed that they have positively identified the three juveniles involved and have referred them to juvenile authorities for theft and operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, according to the release.
