PHOTOS: Crews respond to damage reports after probable tornado touches down in Deerfield

DEERFIELD, Wis. - The National Weather Service said it is probable that a tornado touched down in Deerfield Thursday afternoon.

Fire officials are responding to a collapsed structure in Deerfield after the tornado passed through the area causing damage.

The metal building housing the International Machinery Exchange at 214 N. Main St. had a gas leak from the damage. Officials with the Deerfield Volunteer Fire Department said the gas has been turned off.

The Dane County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman said the report came in at about 3:53 p.m. Deputies are responding to the report of damage on Main Street as well.

Fire officials said the incident is ongoing and they cannot yet determine if the damage was caused by a tornado or heavy winds.
