SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. - Due to a deadly explosion in Sun Prairie Tuesday night, Market Street Diner & Bakery and Salvatore's Tomato Pies are closed today until further notice.

The gas leak explosion caused a half-mile evacuation area. One firefighter was killed and several other people were injured.

According to a Facebook post from Food Fight Restaurant Group, which owns Market Street Diner & Bakery, the restaurant, Carl's Cakes and Market Street Catering will all be closed until further notice.

SSM Health at Home Meals on Wheels will also not be delivering noontime meals since the meals are catered by the Market Street Diner.

The Facebook post said, "We understand the inconvenience this may cause you or your business and will do our best to accommodate you as soon as we are able."

Orders that were scheduled for pick-up during the closure will be canceled and reimbursed.

"We thank you for your support as we work through this tragedy," the post said.

In addition to Market Street Diner being closed, Salvatore's Tomato Pies in Sun Prairie will also be closed until further notice.

"Our team, and our customers are all safe. Sun Prairie FD and PD did an amazing job tonight with assistance from around Dane County," Salvatore's post said.
