MADISON, Wis. - The current Powerball jackpot is the eighth-highest in history at $495 million, a release said.
The Powerball will be drawn Saturday with the possibility of having the first winner of 2019. The jackpot is up 16 percent since the previous Saturday's draw and 10 percent since Wednesday's draw.
This Saturday will be the 23rd drawing since the last jackpot win, which was $294 million and won Dec. 26 by an individual in New York.
Wisconsin has had 16 jackpot winners since Powerball's 1988 inception. The most recent Wisconsin jackpot winner was a Milwaukee resident in 2017.
Powerball also has $4 million to $1 million prizes.
