Verona police respond to disturbance at high school

VERONA, Wis. - Verona police responded to a report of a disturbance at the Verona Area High School around 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

The Verona Area School District said students were put under a "classroom hold" while staff members intervened in a physical altercation, according to an email sent to parents.

The students involved in the the disturbance were sent sent home from school. Police are still at the high school investigating the incident.

School district officials said the students involved will face"appropriate consequences." There were no injuries as a result of the incident, according to school officials.
