MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Department of Health Services announced that is investigating seven cases of salmonellosis spread across four Wisconsin counties, all seemingly connected by peas.

Working in conjunction with the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection as well as four local health departments, the DHS determined that all of the salmonella patients ate fresh shelled peas from farmers markets.

The peas were purchased at markets in Green Bay, Fond du Lac and Madison. The DHS advises anybody who has purchased fresh shelled peas from any of these farmers markets to throw them out.
