ARLINGTON, VA. (WJLA) — There is a new food truck in Washington and it has everyone barking for more.
“Here is the dog beer. Very good for hydration and joints,” said Ron Holloway, co-owner of Woofbowl.
Ron and Solo Holloway opened Woofbowl, a healthy fast food truck for dogs, in August 2019.
Now, they are booked almost every weekend and have lines around the corner of owners waiting to get their hands on the delicious dog treats.
“I think cheeseburgers are probably her favorite though,” said Natalie Papademetriou, of Luna’s Pet Collective.
Woofbowl is a labor of love for owners Solo and Ron Holloway. Solo is a refugee and Ron is a U.S Navy veteran.
Ron says after leaving the Navy, he suffered PTSD, which is why the two became dog owners in the first place.
Now, they are on a mission to help others keep their pets healthy.
“When we got our dogs. It changed me. My breathing, patience, anxiety,” said Ron.
However, it was the unhealthy ingredients found in dog food and treats that inspired the Fairfax County couple to open a dog food truck catering towards a much healthier option for local pet owners.
“We make the food fresh every day and we don’t have any preservatives in our stuff,” said Solo.
The food truck serves everything from hamburgers, tacos, donuts, and even dog beer.
"Our menu items look remarkably like human food truck items, such as burgers, ice cream, and beer, but the gag is - there are healthy dog treats made from premium, human-grade, whole food, dog-friendly ingredients that even you can eat," Solo adds.
