Madison- It came down to the last race of the competition, but the Wisconsin men held off Nebraska to win the 2012 B1G Outdoor Track & Field Championship. The Badgers’ 2^nd place finish in the 4x400 relay clinched the title. It’s their first since 2007.

UW’s Mohammed Ahmed took gold by breaking the meet record with a 13:41 in the 5,000 meters. Ahmed’s season is far from over, since he’s all but clinched a spot on the Canadian Olympic team.

Ohio St. took the title on the women’s side. The Badger women finished fifth.
