Mequon, WI- It's still unclear whether Packers tight end Jermichael Finley will ever play football again.  But he wants to, and he's taking steps forward to see if he can make that dream a reality.  The team put him on the season-ending IR (injured reserve) list after bruising his spinal cord against the Browns.

Finley appears to be headed toward a full recovery.  He's physically back to living a normal life- it's just a question of whether or not he can return to pro football.  Jermichael is planning to have spinal fusion surgery as a protective measure.  Wednesday he was signing autographs in Mequon, and he said the most frustrating thing about the injury is having to sit and watch football instead of playing it.

"I was out with a season ending injury so I've been seated with this view multiple times so it's real hard-- it's tough for me to sit back. The fans have been behind me every step through this injury and just want to say 'appreciate it'-- it's heartwarming."
