Madison- The Badger football team held a public scrimmage Monday at Camp Randall.  Around 1,300 fans showed up to see Gary Andersen's team in game-like situations.  The offense didn't look overly sharp, but the defense was steady- for the most part.  Per the new tradition, the team sang "On Wisconsin" with the fans, and coach Andersen thanked the crowd for making time to show up mid-afternoon on a work/school day.

There is still plenty of work to do, and Andersen said the first scrimmage looked like... a first scrimmage.

"Tackling was just okay... average I would say, to below average at times- especially with the second unit. Way too many penalties, especially with the second offensive lineman. We're gonna move around on defense, and that's what we are. We're gonna go from the odd from to the even front. We wanna cause deception. We wanna cause miscommunication. Our offense is gonna have to learn to deal with that. Hopefully that's tough for our opponents also. That's where we sit."
