Madison- There's another hockey team that's ready to call Madison home.  The USHL's Madison Capitols will begin play in the fall of 2014.  The USHL is a league that features the best 17 & 18-year-old players from across North America.  It's basically one big tryout for junior players who want to impress college and national team coaches. Former Badger and current NHL (Minnesota Wild) star Ryan Suter is the primary owner of the team.  His father Bob is a hockey legend who puts in countless hours keeping youth hockey alive and well.  Ryan wants to help the sport in any way he can.

"I was actually talking with our GM, "How is your relationship with the owner? How does that work?"... It's exciting. I'm proud to be a part of this. I think it's gonna be a great thing. Great thing for hockey... to help build hockey, and give kids something to shoot for before college."

Small market sports franchises can fail as much as they succeed, but Suter is confident that the Capitols can be like the Madison Mallards of hockey.

"I go to Mallards games, and you see all the fans and the kids. And that's what we want this to be like. We want this to be an awesome experience for kids, for businessmen and women. We want them to go and be excited. Going to the Coliseum to watch hockey is a pretty cool thing."
