Champaign, IL- The Badger football team picked up its first road win of the season Saturday night, dominating Illinois 56-32.  The game wasn't even that close, as Wisconsin out to an early 21-0 lead and never looked back.  Head coach Gary Andersen was thrilled to get the first road "W" out of the way.

"If you're going to have any opportunity to be a great team you have to win on the road. That's really what I talked to them about. It was important for them to find a way, to get on the road... we've played some pretty good teams on the road. I believe were a good team also. We were able to come in and get one today which was very important."

Running back Melvin Gordon ran for 142 yards and 3 TDs.  James White racked up 127 total yards and 2 TDs, pushing the Badgers to 5-2 overall, 3-1 in the Big Ten.  Illinois drops to 3-3, 0-3 in the Big Ten.  The Illini have lost 16 straight conference games.

Badgers linebacker Chris Borland left the game in the first half with a hamstring injury, but it doesn't appear to be serious.  Gary Andersen's team has a bye this coming weekend.
