MADISON, Wis. - A man who robbed a credit union on Madison’s east side on Monday told the teller he had an explosive device, according to a release from Madison police.

Police said the robber entered Summit Credit Union at 1799 Thierer Rd. at 9:05 a.m. and passed a note to the teller. He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

The man is described as white, in his 40s with collar-length brown hair. He was wearing a blue Billabong sweatshirt, jeans, white tennis shoes, glasses and he was carrying a backpack.
