MADISON, Wi. – It was only fitting that Bruce Dahmen be
remembered in the place he loved so much.
People packed Memorial High School’s gym. There was no empty seat on the floor or
bleachers, only the one Dahmen used to sit in for basketball games.
“Last Tuesday night, I lost the very best part of
me. Bruce was an amazing man, and he
loved life. He loved you,” Dahmen’s wife
Peggi said to the crowd.
Friends took turns sharing stories and memories of
Dahmen, a man who made an entire career at Memorial.
Dahmen died Tuesday of a heart attack.
“What a credit to Bruce that the students who come to
school here and those of us lucky enough to work in this building hold him in
such high esteem,” Gary Kolpin said.
