MADISON (WMSN) - The snow was falling in Madison by 8:00 p.m. Monday, and could continue to come down through Wednesday morning.



Madison had 30 trucks on the road Monday night and expected that would double on Tuesday. The City said it is unlikely they will clear any residential streets until the snowfall was nearing an end.



A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Adams, Crawford, Grant, Juneau and Richland Counties until 6 p.m. Tuesday.



A Winter Weather Advisory is also in effect for Columbia, Dane, Green, Green Lake, Iowa, Lafayette, Marquette and Sauk Counties from 6 p.m. Monday night until 6 a.m. Wednesday.



-A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Dodge, Jefferson, Rock and Walworth Counties from midnight Tuesday until 6 a.m. Wednesday.



Monday night: Snow developing this evening with accumulations of 3-4" at night. Low: 22. Winds: E-NE 8-15 mph.



Tuesday: Breezy with snow and areas of blowing snow. Another 3-4 inches. Snow ending at night with another inch, for totals of 7-8" in Madison and 6-10" region wide (highest amounts south & east). High: 25. Winds: NE to N 10-22 mph.



Wednesday: Breezy and cold with early clouds, then increasing sunshine. Low/High: 13/21. Winds: NNW 18-8 mph.Snowstorm expected to last 36 hours
