Badgers tennis heads to Big Dance

The Badgers will face San Diego Friday in Los Angeles.

MADISON - The Wisconsin Badgers men's tennis team will be making its first trip to the NCAA Men's Tennis tournament since 2010 this week in Los Angeles.

The Badgers will face San Diego in a first round match Friday.

Danhy Westerman played at Wisconsin and is in his second year as the Badgers' head coach.

"Every experience here has shaped me for who I am," Westerman said. "It's a big motivator is to give back to the program that gave me so much.."

The Badgers aren't ranked in the top 25, but are still confident they can be successful in the NCAA Tournament.

"All year, I kinda feel like we've been the underdog, teams I feel like have been overlooking us in the beginning, but now I think they know who we are," Badger junor Josef Dodridge said.

"Before, people didn't really know much about Wisconsin and now we're showing up to the NCAAs."
