Madison- It took a while, but the Wisconsin football team bounced back from a slow start to blow out Utah State 59-10 at Camp Randall. The 9th-ranked Badgers fell behind 10-0 before waking up and shutting down the Aggies.
UW quarterback Alex Hornibrook went 15 for 23 passing for 244 yards and 3 touchdowns. Jonathan Taylor and Bradrick Shaw ran for 87 and 84 yards, respectively, and had a touchdown apiece.
Badgers tight end Troy Fumagalli had 5 catches for a game-high 105 yards and a TD.
The biggest defensive highlight of the night came when UW senior and Madison-native Joe Ferguson picked off a Kent Myers pass and returned it 99 yards for a touchdown, pushing the lead to 52-10.
Wisconsin (1-0) has now won 22 straight home openers and 38 straight home games against non-conference opponents.
