Madison - Wisconsin junior forward Ethan Happ confirmed his earlier position by officially declaring for the NBA draft. He won't hire an agent, so the door is open for him to return to school.
Happ led the Badgers in points (18), rebounds (8), assists (3.7), steals (1.5), and blocks (1.1).
Wisconsin head coach Greg Gard released a statement supporting Happ's decision. "Ethan and I have talked multiple times about his future and our coaching staff fully supports his decision to explore the draft. This is a great opportunity for him to gather information directly from the source, NBA personnel. The underclassmen rule allows Ethan and others to participate in workouts with teams and potentially the NBA combine. This experience will be invaluable for him and will ultimately make him a better player."
The official invite list for the NBA Combine hasn't been released, but it's scheduled for May 16th through 20th in Chicago.
Happ has until June 11th to decide whether or not he's staying in the draft. The draft itself is June 21st.
