Green Bay - Packers tight end Marcedes Lewis said he didn't plan on signing anything when he made his first visit to Green Bay. After talking with quarterback Aaron Rodgers and fellow tight end Jimmy Graham, Lewis said that it ended up being the only trip he took.
The 34-year-old free agent is known as more of a blocking tight end, but he takes that as a compliment.
"I can do whatever it is that I'm called upon to do. But that's one thing that Aaron said as well. Obviously I'm a really good blocker, but don't get it mistaken, I didn't come here to be a tackle," Lewis said after this week's workouts. "Learn the offense, kind of accelerate this whole deal. Be on the other side of Jimmy doing some good things. It's gonna be trouble out there."
Lewis had 318 catches and five touchdowns last season. He has 33 receiving touchdowns in 12 NFL seasons.
