Melvin Gordon's holdout begins, could last months

The Chargers have stopped trade talks for Gordon now that the regular season has started.

Chargers running back Melvin Gordon hasn't reported to the team, and his absence might last through late November, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

Gordon had been granted permission to seek a trade, but general manager Tom Telesco said the team has stopped those discussions now that the regular season is underway.

If the former Badgers star reports before December 1st, he can become a free agent at the end of the season. He is in the final year of a contract that would have paid him $5.6 million. The team has fined Gordon a million dollars already.
