Madison- The Wisconsin football program prides itself on having one of the stingiest defenses in the country. The Badgers gave up 15.5 points per game last year, good for 4th in the nation.

Despite the fact that they lost linebackers T.J. Watt and Vince Biegel to the NFL, the returning defense sees no drop-off this preseason.

"We all know that we have each other's backs out there. I think that's something that helps us go out there and play fast and physical, and we can all have a lot of fun doing it," linebacker Garret Dooley said. "I think that's what's made us a great defense for the last few years. And I think that's something that will help us continue with that greatness this year."

Wisconsin finished 13th in total defense last season, giving up 96.9 rushing yards per game and 202 total points in 2016.
