Offensive offense: Brewers shut out again

Chase Anderson gave up five earned runs in 5.1 innings vs. the Pirates.

Milwaukee - The Brewers were shut out eight times all of last season. Sunday, they were held without a run for the seventh time in 2018 falling 9-0 to the Pirates.

The Crew only managed two singles in the entire game. Brewers ace Chase Anderson (3-3) gave up five earned runs in 5.1 innings, as Milwaukee (20-15) dropped two of three at Miller Park.

Adam Frazier got things going with a lead-off homer for the Pirates (19-16). Jordy Mercer and Josh Bell also went deep for the visitors.

Hernan Perez and Domingo Santana logged the only hits for Milwaukee, who sit 1.5 behind the Cardinals for first place in the National League central division.
