The wait is over. The Packers have signed quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the richest contract in NFL history. Both sides agreed to a four-year extension worth up to $180 million. The deal runs through 2023.
Rodgers will make almost $103 million in guarantees.
The annual salary of $33.5 million leap frogs the $30 million of Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan to make Rodgers the highest paid player in the league.
Rodgers, 34, is entering his 14th NFL season. He says he'd like to follow the example of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and play into his 40s.
