The struggles continue for the Wisconsin women's basketball team. The Badgers trailed 40-23 at halftime and never recovered in their 73-53 loss at Rutgers.
Imani Lewis led Wisconsin with 18 points. Marsha Howard added 16 points and six steals, but she also had nine of the Badgers 24 turnovers.
Rutgers was playing without head coach C. Vivian Stringer, who is sitting out the rest of the regular season on the advice of the doctor. The 70-year-old Hall of Famer has been battling exhaustion this season. She's expected to return for postseason play.
Tekia Mack had 17 points and seven rebounds to lead the Scarlet Knights.
Wisconsin falls to 13-15 overall, 4-12 in Big Ten play. Rutgers improves to 19-8, 11-5.
