Shaw's ready to stay put

The Brewers acquired Shaw in an offseason trade with the Red Sox.

Milwaukee- The offseason trade the Brewers made to acquire Travis Shaw from the Red Sox wasn't a blockbuster, but it was a big deal for Shaw. He just bought a house in Florida- where Boston has Spring Training- because he figured he'd be with the organization for a while. But he was shipped to the Brewers- who hold Spring Training in Arizona- in December, so that forced a change in plans.

The 27-year-old third baseman is making the most of his new opportunity. Entering play Wednesday he has 7 home runs and a team-high 25 RBI's. Shaw isn't bitter about being traded, he's happy that he gets a chance to prove his value every day.

"Coming here I'll be in the lineup, middle of the order. Lefties, righties, it doesn't matter," Shaw said. "It's big for not only my confidence but allows me to kind of get into a groove a little bit."
