Brewers MVP candidate Christian Yelich missed out on a Gold Glove Award for defense, but he earned the offensive equivalent Thursday night. Yelich was a awarded the Silver Slugger Award, given to the best hitter at each position. It's the second time he's claimed the award.
Yelich had career-highs in batting average (.326), home runs (36), and RBIs (110) in his first season with the Brewers.
The 26-year-old led the league in slugging percentage (.598) and OPS (on base + slugging, 1.000).
