April is nearly upon us and that means a new crop of titles will be appearing on Netflix.

Here's Netflix's 9-minute sizzle reel:

Here are five titles that I have my eye on.

Concrete Cowboy

Idris Elba, and Caleb McLaughlin ("Stranger Things") star in this drama about a 15-year-old boy from Detroit who is sent to live with his father in Philadelphia and is introduced into the local phenomenon of city cowboys. I'd prefer a documentary on urban cowboys but its hard to turn down the opportunity to see Elba in just about anything. (Avail. 4/2/21)

Thunder Force

Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer star in this sci-fi comedy about two childhood friends who team up as adults to take on a world overrun with supervillains. I'm approaching this one with a bit of caution in that it was written and directed by Ben Falcone, McCarthy's frequent collaborator and husband. I wasn't a fan of their previous efforts "Tammy," "The Boss," or "Life of the Party." (Avail. 4/9/21)

Life in Color with David Attenborough

David Attenborough narrates this documentary about how animals use color to help them survive. Attenborough has been the voice of nature documentaries for decades. He's become something of a trusted guide leading views into the fascinating world that surrounds us. (Avail. 4/22/21)

A sci-fi thriller with Anna Kendrick, Daniel Dae Kim, and Toni Collette about a space mission to Mars that goes terribly wrong when a stowaway is discovered on the spacecraft? Yes, please. (Avail. 4/22/21)

The Mitchells vs. The Machines

A dysfunctional family embarks on a road trip only to find themselves caught up in a robot apocalypse. Written by Mike Rianda and Jeff Rowe ("Gravity Falls") and produced by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller ("Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse", "The Mitchells vs. The Machines" was intended to be shown in theaters in 2020. We all know how well 2020 worked out for most of us. (Avail. 4/30/21)
