MADISON, Wis. — Chandler Halderson, the Windsor man charged with killing his father, has been bound over for trial.
Dane County court officials accepted Halderson’s waiver of a preliminary hearing and ruled there’s enough evidence for the case to be brought to trial. Halderson is facing four charges, including first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, hiding a corpse and providing false information about a missing persons investigation.
He was initially arrested in early July for allegedly lying to law enforcement about his parents whereabouts in relation to a missing persons investigation. Authorities later filed charges against him after they found his father’s dismembered remains on a Cottage Grove property.
Law enforcement are still searching for Halderson’s mother, Krista, who hasn’t been seen since July 1.
Last week, authorities said they were searching a pond near the Halderson’s home and a landfill near Johnson Creek for evidence related to their investigation.
Halderson’s arraignment is scheduled for Aug. 13.
