Report: Aaron Rodgers plans to play for Packers this year

2017 — Aaron Rodgers throws a 36-yard pass to a toe-dragging Jared Cook on the sideline, and Mason Crosby kicks a 51-yard field goal on the next play as time expires, sending Green Bay to the NFC championship game with its eighth straight win while thwarting a Dallas rally in a 34-31 victory in the divisional round of the playoffs.

GREEN BAY, Wis. — The months of off-season drama and rumors that Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers may leave the team could be finally coming to an end.

That’s according to reporter Ian Rapoport, who tweeted Monday that Rodgers has told people close to him that he plans to suit up in green and gold this season.

Rodgers has not yet made any public statements regarding his reported return to Green Bay.

According to NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero, though, Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst said the organization is working to resolve issues Rodgers has had with the team’s management. Gutekunst said he’s “hopeful for a positive outcome.”

Throughout the course of the offseason, Rodgers has skipped out on optional team activates, despite making a point to attend ahead of previous seasons.

The team’s training camp kicks off Wednesday. Players are expected to report Tuesday.
